The 2011 Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar will be held Dec. 2-3 at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North, 7 Concourse Parkway, Atlanta, GA.
The Seminar was founded in 1973 by a group of photojournalists representing newspapers, magazines and wire services, seeking to promote the highest standards of photojournalism through an annual educational conference and a photography contest judged by working photographers.
Among the 16 different categories to enter are Spot News, Feature, Sports Action, Portrait, Product Illustration, and Multimedia Slideshows. Each participant may submit up to 15 entries plus a portfolio. A picture story or multimedia entry counts as one entry. No more than 3 multimedia entries per person are permitted.
– Deadline: Entries must be received by 6 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2011.
– Entry Fee: US $45 per photographer or multimedia team.
– Eligibility: You do not have to attend the Seminar to enter. Photos must have been taken between November 8, 2010 and November 7, 2011 (see contest rules for picture story exceptions).
